3D Secure (3DS)

To ensure secure and compliant transactions, our payment processors and gateways require 3D Secure (3DS) authentication for all card payments. If your card does not support 3DS, your payment will be declined, even if it's otherwise valid.

What is 3D Secure (3DS)?

3D Secure (3DS) is an extra layer of security for online card payments, designed to prevent fraud. When making a purchase online, 3DS prompts you to verify your identity, usually via a code sent to your phone or a prompt in your banking app.

3DS is supported by all major card networks:

  • VISA Secure (formerly Verified by VISA);

  • Mastercard Identity Check;

  • American Express SafeKey;

  • Discover ProtectBuy.

How to enable 3DS on your card

Contact your bank or card issuer

Reach out to the customer service department of the bank that issued your VISA, Mastercard, Amex, or Discover card and ask whether your card is enrolled in 3D Secure, and whether 3D Secure can be enabled for online purchases.

Most banks either enable 3DS by default or allow you to activate it through:

  • Online banking or mobile app;

  • Customer service hotline;

  • In-person visit to a local branch.

Enroll if necessary

If your card is not already enrolled in 3DS, the bank may ask you to:

  • Register for a 3DS service (e.g., set up an online password or PIN);

  • Enable one-time password (OTP) or push notification verification;

  • Use their mobile banking app for real-time confirmation.

Make your payment

Once your card is 3DS-enabled, return to our checkout page and complete your payment. You'll be prompted to verify your transaction through:

  • An OTP sent via SMS or email;

  • A secure prompt in your mobile banking app;

  • Biometric verification, depending on your bank.

By ensuring your card is 3DS-enabled, you help keep your transactions safe and ensure a smooth payment experience.
