This article describes the configuration of most Obi adaptors in case they are used for analog phones. The difference in models will be in codec supported, which is represented at the end of this guide.

Use a network scanner to identify the IP of the adaptor so you can log in. To edit an item in the Web interface, you will need to uncheck Default checkbox near it.

NOTE: after you modify some values under ITSP you will see a prompt to reboot the phone. Only do it at the end of the configuration.

ITSP Profile A

General

  • SignalingProtocol: SIP (Poly Obi VVX 250, 350, and 450 only)

  • DTMFMethod: Auto

  • Click Submit

SIP

  • X_VqPublishOnSSRCChange: Make sure the left side box is checked, right side box is unchecked

Voice Services

SP1 Service

  • Enable: Make sure the left side box is checked, right side box is un-checked

  • X_DisplayLabel: Enter the extension number (Polycom OBi250, 350, and 450 only)

  • X_DisplayNumber: Enter the User's DID (Polycom OBi250, 350, and 450 only)

  • X_AcceptSipFromRegistrarOnly: Make sure the left side box is checked, right side box is unchecked

  • X_KeepAliveEnable: Make sure the left side box is checked, right side box is un-checked

  • X_KeepAliveExpires: 15

  • X_KeepAliveServerPort: 5060

  • X_KeepAliveMsgType: from the drop down, select keep-alive

  • X_UserAgentPort: 5 + extension number (example, extension 123 would be 5123)

  • X_DefaultRing: 1

  • X_CallOnHoldRing: 8

  • Click Submit

Codecs

G711U Codec

  • Codec: Uncheck the box on the far right

  • Enable: Make sure the left side box is checked, right side box is unchecked

  • SilenceSupression: Make sure the left side box is unchecked, right side box is unchecked

  • Priority: 1

G711A Codec

  • Codec: Uncheck the box on the far right

  • Enable: Make sure the left side box is checked, right side box is unchecked

  • SilenceSupression: Make sure the left side box is unchecked, right side box is unchecked

  • Priority: 2

G729 Codec
Only enable this if configuring a deskphone or the ATA will be used with an analog phone.

  • Codec: Uncheck the box on the far right

  • Enable: Make sure the left side box is checked, right side box is unchecked

  • SilenceSupression: Make sure the left side box is unchecked, right side box is unchecked

  • Priority: 3

G726R32

  • Enable: Make sure the left side box is unchecked, right side box is unchecked

  • Priority: Uncheck box and change to 9

iLBC Codec

  • Priority: Uncheck box and change to 10

G722 Codec - Only available on the Poly Obi 250, 350, and 450

  • Codec: Uncheck the box on the far right

  • Enable: Make sure the left side box is checked, right side box is unchecked

  • SilenceSupression: Make sure the left side box is unchecked, right side box is unchecked

  • Priority: 4

Opus Codec - Only available on the Poly Obi 250, 350, and 450

  • Priority: Uncheck box and change to 11


​Codec Settings - Only on the Poly OBi ATA's

  • G726BitPacking: Uncheck the box to disable

  • T38Enable: Make sure the left side box is unchecked, right side box is unchecked

  • T38Redundancy: Un-check box to disable

  • T38ECM: Make sure the left side box is unchecked, right side box is unchecked

  • FaxPassThroughCodec: Make sure that G711U is selected, uncheck the box to the right.

Click Submit. The device will reboot.
